Steve and Sherry Woolworth had a home
in the north end of Tacoma with a great view, but an aging exterior and an interior that didn't quite mesh with
their lifestyle. A desire for the use of green and eco-
friendly materials lead to some interesting solutions. The exterior was expanded and freshened with natural cedar
shingles and board and batten siding. The roofing the Woolwoths chose is a recycled rubber tile. A transisitonal asian/northwest theme
is emphisized. The interior was reorganized and expanded with a loft over the existing kitchen, an additional bedroom
and expansion of the master suite for a clean modern contemporary look. The interior materials also include recycled
tile, recycled paper countops and cork floors. The home was featured in the Master Builders
Remodelers Tour and won a Green Award for Gary Howe Construction. Construction: Gary Howe Construction
