SPIRAL SOLUTION...
Steve and Paula Leitz found a great three acre lot in Gig Harbor that feels as if you are in a sheltering forest. Steve and Paula asked us to design a home that reflects their sense of relaxed lifestyle and provides an appropriate setting for socializing. Just to make the design project more challenging, we were asked by Paula's mother Hazel and her twin sister Helen to design a cottage for them on the same site.
Our process of discovery led to a design concept of a combined home based around a spiral courtyard. The courtyard hat has been designed using the mathematical principal of the 'Golden Mean'.
